More April pictures

April

Our April meeting was a good one with a full room of quilt guild members to see how Ester Duncan dyes lovely natural fabrics with natural dyes.  It was most interesting, she will be back at our May meeting where we will be able to dye silk scarves or cotton fabric that can be used in quilts. 

There were many beautiful quilts shown and many of the ladies brought aprons in to show. 

A report was given about the Snow Goose Quilt show and classes, we cleared $1050.92 which is the most we have made.

Cindy Gardner brought the ‘mystery quilt’ that some of you have been working on.  It was great to see what a nice quilt can come out of many scraps and mystery blocks.

This was a fun night.  We showed different pillows and pillow cases, talked about charity quilts, future activities, mystery quilt, and show and tell.

 

 



FEBRUARY
I haven't recieved any pictures from that evening so as of now I don't have any to post.  It sounds like it was a fun night.  There was a great turn out, Cindy shared the next part of the mystery quilt, there was a visit from our area representative, and lots of fun show/tell.

Holly is doing a cute idea for Show and Tell.  When you show a project that you have completed you will recieve a pattern for some kind of pin cushion.  Bring a pin cushion back that you have made and pick something out of the pick box.

Cindy is doing a mystery quilt and passed out the pattern for the first month.  It will go for about four months.

Carol & Cindy demonstrated different ways to do a half square triangle.

Welcome quilters new and old!  We are excited for a new year to begin.  Our first meeting will be next Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the district school building.  We will be showing some fun ideas on how to do half square triangles, sharing a mystery quilt, and as always show and tell.  Come and bring a friend!
